About Us

Who are we?

Hello, I’m Brooke, the owner and founder of Hare & Hunter. As a proud mother to my daughter Hattie, living on a sheep and beef farm in the rural Rangitīkei region has deeply inspired me. Our way of life on the farm has driven my passion to create something that not only supports New Zealand’s wool industry but also brings warmth and comfort to our little Kiwi kids.

At the heart of Hare & Hunter are classic, gender-neutral designs in earthy and neutral tones, inspired by the land around us and made to be worn, loved, and passed down. These timeless pieces form the foundation of our collections and reflect our belief in slow fashion and enduring style.

Alongside these staples, we also create limited seasonal collections that introduce thoughtful pops of colour — a playful nod to childhood and the changing seasons, while still remaining true to our natural, timeless aesthetic.

We exclusively use premium New Zealand merino wool, chosen for its softness, warmth, and quality. I have been fortunate to partner with a group of skilled local hand-knitters, who are the heart and soul of our business. Together, we craft each piece with care, ensuring every garment tells a story of craftsmanship, connection, and life in rural New Zealand.
